Young Women Slumber Party and Broadcast

Let me just start by saying I love these girls! They are all such great girls. I absolutely love being in Young Women's, I love being able to be a role model for them and teach them. On Friday night I has a slumber party at my house for my Beehives. We had so much fun! It was a "P" party so they had to do things that started with a P. Like wear PJs or pink, bring pillows and we had pizza and pop, etc. We also added in the "P" for Personal Progress. We spent the first hour and a half working on a few experiences in their personal progress books and eating pizza. Then we made our own homemade facials. We made a scrub out of blended granola and honey and then a facial out of bananas, honey and sour cream. It we so much fun! Then we spent hours playing a bunch of silly games. Their favorite was a game called "Psychiatrist." We played that game the longest. Then we watched the movie "Singles Ward." I went to bed around 1am, but the girls said they stayed up until almost 4am! I wish I had that kind of energy. I feel like it was a success. We started out on a spiritual note and learned and read from the scriptures and then spend some bonding time playing games and doing facials. I am really proud of these girls, they face so many challenges every day at school and in life. Through all that they are keeping themselves clean and pure and growing in their testimonies. It was great getting to spend more time with them and really start to get to know them better. I hope to do it again!

Here we are putting our facials on. Excuse the mess in the background. It is amazing how your house can get messy in a matter of an hour!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had the opportunity last night to attend the Young Woman Broadcast. I loved it, there were so many wonderful points made and it was so great to be able to hear from the YW General Presidency and our prophet President Thomas S. Monson. It was a very uplifting broadcast. I loved the messages that were shared but for some reason something else really caught my eye. There was a choir assembled by Young Women from throughout Utah, they sang so beautifully. I was really touched by their singing, and I was especially touched by their appearance. They all were so beautiful and you could see it in them that they were happy, confident, clean and that they loved themselves and their Savior. In the world today that can be a rare sight to see so many beautiful young women in one place with that countenance and it was so touching. I was talking with my friend who serves in YW with me on the way home and she noticed the same thing. There was also a video they showed about the new value, Virtue. It really brought the spirit to the meeting and I really enjoyed it. I pray that our girls were able to feel the spirit that I felt and that they learned from the messeges that were shared. If you have the chance to watch or read this broadcast I highly recommend it.

Walking! (video)

I cant even believe that I am posting a post called walking, shouldnt my baby still be laying in a bouncer all swaddled up? Time flies way too fast. Yesterday Cameron took his first steps and today he has been doing it left and right. Of course, the moment that I get the camera out it takes tons of work to get him to do it, but when the camera is off he does it on his own. Amazing! It took a little for him to walk in the video, but keep your eyes open, he does it! He still falls after a few steps and Im sure he will continue falling a bit for a little while.

First Steps and New Teeth

To start out with, Cameron took a few steps today! I was excited on one hand and a little sad on another, I want him to be my little baby forever. He only took about 3 steps forward and then fell into Bret, but its progress. He has been using his walk-behind walker like crazy lately so its paying off. Im sure it will still be some time before he is running around.

Also, about a week and a half ago Cameron had one of his upper teeth break through the gums and then just the other day he had another. They arent his middle front teeth up top, they are the two right next to them on each side. So he has 4 teeth, two on bottom, two on top. I can see his middle front teeth under the gums but they havent cut through yet.

A Little Randomness

This is Camerons new obsession... Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I am not one of those moms who sits her kid in front of a TV all day, but a little cartoons in the morning cant hurt. So in the mornings for about the last month I turn on Disney Channel. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse comes on at 7:30 and 9am so I let him watch both of them. It is the only cartoon he likes. This picture was from the other morning and I thought it was funny how intently he was watching. He sure loves that show. The other day we were playing chase in the dining room around the table and I started singing the song from it because it was stuck in my head and Cameron crawled right over to the living room to check out if it was on. He looked up at the TV and then looked at me confused because it was just a blank screen. He is so funny. I even make him stand up and hold onto me and we dance to the "hot digity dog dance."
This was a first, and possibly a last. I had someone coming during nap time for a hair cut the other day and he had slept in longer than normal so I figured he would want to go down for his nap a little later than usual. Obviously not. I gave him his lunch and started cutting her hair. A little bit later I noticed he was being really quiet and I looked up to find he totally knocked out asleep. I finished the haircut and he slept the whole time, took him upstairs afterward and he slept for a few more hours in his crib.
We're off to see the wizard... My little tin man. He loves to play with the funnels so I always put them on his head because it looks so funny. He takes it right off, he is so not for any kind of hat or anything on his head. But its cute while its on there!

Toilet Paper Brides

On Tuesday night for Young Womans we had a temple marriage night. It started out more on a spiritual note with all the YW Leaders sharing their first temple experience and their testimonies of temple marriage. Then it took a turn in the other direction... We had the girls in groups of 3, one as a model and the other two were dress makers. We needed one extra person so I joined a group. Our task was to make wedding dresses out of toilet paper, modest dresses. It was a lot of fun! I am really enjoying my calling in YW. They are all such great girls, and all so unique in their own way. I remember my YW leaders always talking about how much they loved us girls and I never took it to heart. But now I understand what they meant, I do love all the girls and I want them to make good decisions and be happy. Its such a fun calling and I am glad I get to take part in our wards Young Woman program.

So Cute.. I Love Card Making!

Lately I have been kinda making duds for some reason, I guess its "card makers block." I havent been in love with the finished result. But tonight I was making this card and matching gift bag for my friends shower I am throwing on Wednesday and I love them! I think it might have something to do with the fact that Im a little baby hungry, especially baby girl hungry, right now. But arent they cute?? I love making cards, its my favorite hobby besides doing nothing which never happens.

A New Favorite

I have to say that one of my favorite things is introducing new foods. I dont know why I love it, but I do. I have been working on getting him to eat mac n' cheese and the little baby "meat sticks" for a few days. Today was a breakthrough! He chowed down on them and loved it! I also have been trying to get him to eat solids from a spoon or fork and he did today. He usually gets mad and insists on feeding them to himself by hand or he gags if you put solids in his mouth using a utinsil for some reason... but hurray he did it! So as a reward I gave him a few little brownie chunks of a healthy version of brownies from The Sneaky Chef (www.thesneakychef.com) They have spinich and blueberries in them and they are made with wheat flour, wheat germ and oat bran. They are actually really good. It was a good food day:)

That Little Pooper, Literally!

This morning I was giving Cameron a bath and he has been such a splasher that I was trying to catch it on camera. But of course when the camera comes out he stops splashing. He loves to thrash around and make big splashes that get me wet too. So anyway, as he was splashing and playing all of a sudden he froze and hunched over a bit... unfortunatly I know what that means. That is what he does when he is doing a number 2. He has never pooped in the tub before but he did today, icky icky! I had already washed him and had him spic and span and then he had to give me that little gift. It was an interesting morning in the bath tub to say the least. I am worried, however, that this is just the begining with the poop woes.

Watching Snow and DVD Messes

This morning when we woke up it was snowing! A little late for us to be getting snow, what happened to springtime coming our way!? Anyway, Cameron was so fascinated by the flakes falling. He kept crawling over to the door and standing up looking outside. He did this all morning until it stopped. I will say, they were some pretty big flakes at times! And of course, in try Seattle fashion, its sunny out now and all the snow is gone. This is Camerons new favorite game... not mine to say the least. He loves to pull all the DVDs down and throw them around. Then when he gets bored with them I get to put them all back. What a silly boy, always making messes for me to pick up. Im thinking its about time to find a new place for the DVDs.

A Sun Shiny Day

Today was such a nice day! I decided to take Cameron out and let him enjoy some sun shine. He held my hands and walked all around the front yard. He loved it!

It was pretty bright outside so I couldnt get a good smile out of him cause whenever he looked up he had to squint. But he still looks so cute anyway!

He was really fascinated by the grass. He kept running the grass blades between his fingers. He also attempted to eat a leaf, but I caught that one before he could go through with it.

When I first set him in the grass he was a little unsure of what to do. He was too young last summer to really go out in the grass, so this was his first time. He kinda just sat there at first and played with the grass blades. Then all of a sudden he got the idea to go roaming and he crawled all over the yard. We had a lot of fun out in the sun!

Internet Buddy Play Date

When I was pregnant I was on a forum called Baby and Bump. A lot of the girls on it were from the UK, but I found someone that was due close to me and that lived here in Washington too. Come to find out we lived really close together. We have been emailng since our babies were born but we have never gotten together or met. Her name is Monique and she had a little baby boy a week before Cameron was born and his name is Connor. Today they came over to have a play date. It was so much fun! The boys had a great time having someone the same age to play with. I am so glad we got to get together today and have some fun!

Cameron and Connor playing with the shoes.

Connor likes to climb so he took up climbing on Cameron, how cute!
They really liked eachother and had a lot of fun together. I swear, they did play with more than just the shoes... that just happens to be where I got decent pictures of them.

February Craft

This is the craft we did for February. I have been meaning to post it but have been super busy! It turned out really great. I am loving doing this craft group! We are working on making what we are going to do this month.
