One Week Old

My brand new little guy is already a week old today! I cant believe how fast time is going. I am trying to cherish every little minute since I know he wont be little like this for long. He is such a great baby so far. He is sleeping almost through the night already. I feed him at 10pm when we go to bed then he doesnt wake up until 3-3:30am to eat, I feed him and put him back to bed and he doesnt wake up again until Cameron comes in our room around 6:45-7am. He is nursing really well which makes me so happy. I really wanted to nurse Cameron and had a really hard time so I switched to bottles and I was really hoping this time he would be a good nurser, I got my wish! He had his doctor appointment yesterday and he is up 1oz from birthweight already which my doctor said is great. He said usually at 6 days old babies are still below birthweight. I must make some good milk! He got circumcised yesterday too, poor little guy. He was a trooper through the procedure, he just slept but then once the numbing meds wore off he was not a happy camper. He screamed the whole 15 min drive home and then zonked out for a few hours. He is much happier today. I am so thankful that I get to be his Mom and watch him grow and develop. I am so excited to have him here and Im enjoying every little second with him and Cameron!

Brothers

Cameron loves his little brother. We definatly have had our crazy moments and I know he is having a hard time adjusting to having another little person around, but overall he is handling it pretty well. He loves to lay on the floor with Connor and point to all his features, his eyes, his nose, etc. He is such a great helper, he brings me wipes and diapers or whatever I may need. Im excited to see how great they will be together in another few months or in a year.

Connors First Bath

Yesterday Connor recieved his first bath at home, lets just say he wasnt a big fan of the water! Its funny too because when his hair dries it naturally dries in a little mohawk, so funny! He is the cutest little guy around:)

Connor Has Arrived!

He is finally here! Although I dont really have to say finally because he came a whole week early all on his own! I am amazed that he was early, I was supposed to be induced on Friday June 4th which was 5 days early but he had other plans... I went into labor on Tuesday June 1st and he was born at 12:35am on June 2nd. I had been having contractions on and off all day, never regular and not really increasing too much in intensity. Then around 8:15pm my labor started, we gave it a little while to be sure and then got to the hospital around 9:30pm. When we got there I was dilated to 4 1/2cm and 95% effaced. I told the nurse that my last labor was reletivly quick but she didnt listen... She made me get up and walk the halls for a half hour. When I got back to the room it was about 10:15pm and I was at 6cm. Within 30 minutes of that I had dilated to an 8, so in an hour I went from a 4 1/2 to an 8! I was in a lot of pain and begging for my epidural by this point. Because I was group B strep positive we had to try to prolong my labor as long as we could so I could get as much of the medicine in me before he was born, and this meant they had to put off giving me my epidural because it can cause me to go hypertensive with the meds if we try to do it all too fast. I was feeling the urge to push and barely surviving each contraction. I went from an 8 to a 9 almost 10 within a matter of minutes. The nurse said the only thing holding the baby in me was the fact that the bag of water hadnt broken. Luckily around midnight they finally, and I stress the word finally, got the anetheisiologist in the room but by this point there was no epidural for me:( I was too far gone and the only option was an intertheacal (sp?) which is a shot they give you in a different spot in your back, its similar to an epidural and numbs you in a similar way but only lasts for about 90 minutes. I didnt care that I was about ready to push I wanted anything to relieve the pain and give me some pushing energy. I have to say there was only about 10 minutes from when I went numb to when I started pushing but it was so needed, it gave me just enough time to catch my composure and build up energy to push. So we started pushing with the first contraction... I pushed once for 8 seconds, then again for about 5 seconds and the doctor started yelling for me to stop pushing and out slid Connor! The doctor literally had to catch him. He was a quick little guy. I cant believe how fast it was. I also cant believe how painful it was! I got my epidural when I was 6cm with Cameron so I never felt that pain delivering him. Oh man it hurts, I thought I was going to die! But it was all worth every second to have my sweet little boy here. As I said earlier he was born at 12:35am, he weighed 6lbs 7oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. He has a lot of hair, at least to me. I figured all our kids would be bald blondies, but apparently we have one with dark hair. I love my little Connor so much and Im so thankful that Heavenly Father blessed us with him. He is such a good baby so far, he is nursing really well, sleeping a ton and barely cries at all. Cameron loves his little brother so much too and we are so happy to be a family:)

Family of 3 about to be 4!

Today was our last Sunday going to church as a family of 3, weird! I cant believe Im about to be a part of a family of 4. I am trying to cherish this last week and get some fun family time in before little Camerons world gets flipped upside down. I know it will be a transition for us all but its going to be a great one!

38 1/2 Weeks.....

Here I am, finally in the last leg of my second pregnancy. I definatly feel much better this pregnancy than I did with Camerons but let me be the first to say Im SO ready to be done and have my baby here! Im just about as big as can be now. At my 38 week appointment I was 2.5cm dilated and 70% effaced which is really good! Babys head was still at -3 he said getting closer to -2 station, but my doc says a lot of times the babys head doesnt decend past that in second pregnancies until your in labor. Thank heavens he told me I have a "very favorable cervix" which means an induction will most likely be easy to get going. Im now at 22lbs gained, which if you remember my 50lbs with Cameron this is half of that! (Thanks to Zumba and a few lessons learned on my part) So... my doc is going to call Tuesday to schedule my induction for this Friday. I wont have a specific time until that morning. A nurse from the hospital will call me between 4-6am and let me know when we can come in, but it will for sure be that day sometime. Im getting so anxious and excited to meet my little boy. I am very thankful to my Father in Heaven that I have the opportunity to be pregnant with this sweet spirit and welcome him into our family, also that I have had a healthy pregnancy with no complications or problems. I hope Friday hurries up and gets here quick!

Baby Shower for Connor

A few friends of mine from church put on a baby shower for me and Connor a few weeks ago. It was a lot of fun and Connor got some really cute clothes:) If your wondering what the heck this is a picture of its from a game we played. I brought the 3D picture of Connor and the game was to mold his face out of playdough! It was really funny to see what people came up with. I sure hope he doesnt look like any of them!

The theme for the shower was "cravings" and since the most common cliche of a pregnant womans craving is pickles and ice cream thats what we had! My very talented friend Brittani made a pickle cake which was delicious! My mom, me and my mother in law Maggie.

For Camerons birthday he got a lawn mower so he could help Daddy mow the lawn. He LOVES it! So here he is out mowing the lawn with Bret.

36 Week Update & Belly Picture

Today I had my 36 week doctor appointment. I am 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I would have liked to be more than that but its better than nothing! Im pretty sure I will be more next week because after he checked me I started getting a lot of BH contractions and twinges so Im thinking he got some things rolling. The baby is riding low, he said he could feel my bag of waters and his head which is a good thing. I officially hit the 20lb weight gain mark too, which is no biggie, thats still not too bad as far as weight gain goes. Im steadily gaining a pound a week so with only 3 weeks and 2 days until my induction I will probably gain only another 4lbs max which is perfect. This pregnancy has been so different than Camerons in that regard. I gained a total of 50lbs with Cameron so Im going to top out at half the amount of weight this time. Thank heavens! Im measuring between a 34 and 35 right now and I should be at 36 so Im slightly small. My doctor said its no biggie as long as I dont stop growing and then I will have to have an ultrasound to be sure the baby is growing ok. Im so excited to be so close to getting to meet my little guy!

Washin' The Car

On Saturday after Camerons party we came home and decided the car needed a washin'. It was a beautiful day outside so I let Cameron hang out with Daddy and help. It turned into a super fun activity and he had an awesome time. He started out dressed and ended up in just his onsie, he got soaked!

In no time he was down to a onesie. I got a sponge that hadnt been used in the kitchen and cut the scratchy side off so he could have his very own sponge for washing the car. He thought this was pretty cool.

We all had fun washing the car! This made me so excited for summer time, I cant wait to do all the fun outdoor activities that come with summer!

Camerons 2nd Birthday Party

This year we had Camerons birthday party at the Tacoma Childrens Museum. It was a ton of fun! Im so glad we decided to have it there. Cameron had all his friends come and some of his cousins. We got to play in the museum for an hour and then we went into the party room for pizza, cake and presents. The present opening was pure insane chaos! Cameron just wanted to rip the present open and grab another and rip it open, then repeat. I had no time to open or read cards or figure out who gave it to him and what it was. It was madness! But he had fun, so thats all that matters.

This was Camerons first time painting and he was amazingly clean about it. I will have to try painting at home sometime. Of course then he wont be clean Im sure!

The party was a success. We had a lot of fun celebrating his birthday this year. Now another year until we have to do it again!
