Bath Time Silliness

Cameron doesnt think having two hands is enough so he shoves one of his foam letters in his mouth and holds it there while he fishes for other toys! I think its the funniest thing. Sometimes he holds it in there for a while so he can actually play with other things or try to shove more in his mouth. I think he is really truly teething now because he is super fussy all the time and he pulls on his ears a lot and he wants to be chewing or biting on something all the time. And the foam bath letters seem to work well for him because he loves to chew on them. I just keep waiting for those little teeth to show up!

I love his laugh! I had him laughing in the bath and I had to catch it on camera!

Sad But True... Family Dinners

Bret and I have been married for just over 3 years now and sadly we are just now starting to have family dinners. I swear we never meant to end up this way but with our schedules before Cameron we never seemed to be home at the same times to eat dinner. I was working later nights and wouldnt get home until anywhere between 7 and 10pm so Bret would just eat when he wanted. Then after I quit working we were so in that habit that we just ate dinner when we got hungry and it rarely ended up being we were hungry at the same time. So, I made the executive decision that we were going to have family dinner every night from now on. If you know us well, you know we are hard to please in the food department, we are both rather picky. So we sat down one night and came up with a list of things we both like or things we can modify so we would like it. We have been at it for a week now and I love having dinner together! I made lasagna for the first time ever, and Bret liked it! I feel very homemaker-ish now. Its so fun being able to sit down as a family and all eat dinner together, although Cameron is stuck with his mooshy meat and veggies dinners.

Water Please!

Cameron would just stare at us while we would drink out of our glasses so one day I let him try drinking water out of my glass and he was in heaven. I swear he is a fish out of water. He gets so excited and flaps his arms and kicks his legs and grabs the cup, he loves it! So at dinner each night we let him drink out of our water glasses when he is finished with his food. I think its so cute, maybe time for a sippy cup...?

True Blue...

I know I already posted about this, but it happened again and it was even funnier this time! I gave Cameron some blackberries and blueberries mixed in his mesh feeder and he loved it! Maybe a little too much. I had to get a picture because he had it all over his face, hands and not to mention his excersaucer too! I dont normally give him food in his excersaucer but I was cooking and it kept him occupied and when I turned around this is what I saw. I laughed so hard, what a silly messy boy.

Harvest Fair

Our ward put on a Harvest Fair this last Saturday and it was so much fun! We had a chili cookoff, and a cornbread and pie contest. I got 3rd place for my apple cranberry pie, yum! (I cant take the credit really, its my moms recipe) I was in charge of the dehydrating table and I did a demo on making fruit leather and dehydrating apples. I made a blackberry-apple fruit leather, it was really good. The whole fair was based around being prepared, food storage, saving money and frugal crafting. They had a 72-hour backpack relay race for the kids, some families made their own scarecrows to bring and display and lots of fun demos and classes for everyone to visit. I absolutely love our ward!I have to say, not my best picture... But Cameron looks so cute and happy!
My dehydrating table where I had info about dehydrating foods and I did my demo.
My third place pie, it was delicious!

So Glad When Daddy Comes Home

Every night when Bret comes home I hear his truck pull up and Cameron and I got to the garage door to meet him. The second Cameron sees him he smiles so big and starts flapping his arms and legs! He is so excited to see his daddy! I am attributing this to the fact that he loves his dad and wants to hang out with him, not that he is bored to death from spending all day with me and is happy to see someone to save him from me:) I think its the cutest thing to see him be so happy to spend time with Bret.

I remember singing this song in primary and it makes me think of the way Cameron is when Bret comes home each night.

I’m so glad when daddy comes home,
Glad as I can be;
Clap my hands and shout for joy,
Then climb upon his knee,
Put my arms around his neck,
Hug him tight like this,
Pat his cheeks, then give him what?
A great big kiss.

Crafty Gals

My friend Courtney and I along with some other gals in my ward put on a craft night this week. It was a lot of fun. My friend Lanette did all the vinyl for us and Courtney and I picked out the crafts and got all the supplies together for everyone. And Kristin graciously offered her home for us to meet in this month. We had a good turnout for our first get together, we hope to do it once a month. Here are two of the crafts we did, we also did a vinyl calendar but I still need to put my vinyl on the frame so when its done I will post a picture:) We made the magnets, too!

Handsome Boy

One of my favorite places in the world, Childrens Place, is having their fall sale right now and I happened upon a good deal on this cute cardigan sweater. I am in love with it! I am such a sucker for argyle! I have to admit little boys sure are cute in Sunday clothes, especially mine:) I could dress him in church clothes all week long. I just love how handsome it makes him look. So we got some pictures of him today in it and they are adorable. His smile just makes my heart melt!

Blueberries really mean blue...

Cameron is having a lot of fun trying new things and his latest was blueberries. I made some blueberry pancakes for breakfast and I thought it would be fun to let him try them. It crossed my mind that it could be messy but I gave them to him and he loved them! Let me tell you, it was a mess! Luckily he didnt have a blue stained face, but it sure was blue until I cleaned him off. I love the first picture of him attacking them, its such a funny face he is making:)

6 Month and Family Pictures (Unedited)

6 Month and Family Pictures (Edited Pictures)

I will post some more and the unedited ones tomorrow:)

6 Month Check Up

(Cameron 6 Months)
Today was Camerons 6 month well child check up. He is 20lbs 12oz and 27in long. He is in the 95th percentile for weight and between the 50th and 75th for length. The doctor said he is growing well and that he looks great. He was glad that Cameron can sit really well, he said that only 50% of 6 month olds can sit unassisted, so thats good. He said he seems very smart and observant and strong. He said Cameron can start trying some finger foods that dissolve easily like cheerios and gerber puffs. All in all the appointment went well.

Half A Year... Already?!

I am in utter shock that my little baby is already 6 months old. He isnt supposed to grow so fast. I feel like he was just born yesterday and yet I feel like he has always been here. I cant even remember what it was like without him. He is learning so quickly now. He pushes up on his arms and lifts his chest and tummy off the ground, he tries to pull his legs to his knees but cant yet. He just started scooting in a circle, he eats so many different things other than just formula, he is in 9 and 12 month clothes. He just started grabbing and pulling his feet to his mouth, he is getting closer and closer to rolling over. He babbles all the time! He sleeps longer and naps better. He is starting to understand toys a little bit, although he still loves to shove everything he touches in his mouth. And he is finally starting to get some real hair! Everyday there is something new he learns or does. I love being his mommy, its so much fun. I just cant believe that he is halfway to being a 1 year old! I cant wait to give him a little brother or sister (thats not an announcement...) and I know he will be a great big brother. I love my baby!

Just A Few Things...

It was a cold day and we had some errands to run so I had him in some warm comfy clothes. I just thought it was so cute! Although, Im not so sure he likes being bundled up much, I think he liked the "free feeling" during summer, no socks, shorts and a t-shirt. But I guess he is going to have to get used to it because in Seattle you have no choice! Unless it miraculously doesnt rain this winter... right.
Camerons friend Eva came over to play yesterday. They were born exactly a week apart! Evas Mom, Tiffany and I met in birthing class. It was really fun to watch them together. Cameron seemed so intrigued by another baby being in his house and playing with his toys. I just cant believe how fast they are growing up!
Finally! Cameron finally started grabbing at his feet and pulling them to his mouth. He has sort of grabbed them before but never like he is now. Sadly, this is the best picture we could get because once he notices the camera is out he puts his feet down and smiles. (I love his little chunky feet!)
The other night I was vacuuming and Cameron loves to watch me when I vacuum. He watches the movement of me walking back and forth with the vacuum. I was lost in thought and I looked up and Cameron and Bret were sitting like this watching me and I thought it was the cutest thing! I had to quickly snatch the camera and catch it before they moved.

Scoot-A-Round

Cameron started being able to push himself around in a circle, probably a precursor to crawling. If there is a toy out of reach to the side of him he pushes himself around in that direction to get it. Its the cutest thing to watch. I am proud of him that he is starting to learn to be a little more mobile since he wont roll over. I got him to kind of chase a toy in a video, take a look!

(Sorry its not the best video-taking skills you will ever see, but you get the idea)

Laughing Out Loud

We went to Walmart and we decided to go down the toy isle to have a peek and get some ideas for Christmas. We saw one of those toys that you push a button and something pops us, and there are 5 different buttons to push for different animals to pop up. Anyway, we gave it to Cameron who was sitting in the cart and he thought it was the funniest thing he had ever seen! He laughed harder than I have ever seen him laugh. His face was turning bright red and he was laughing so loud people were peeking around the isle and laughing themselves because he was having so much fun with it. This went on the whole way through the check out line too. He loved it so we had to get it. We took a video when we got home of him playing with it but I guess we didnt have to sound on because its a silent film... I am so glad we found a toy he enjoys so much. I wish we had the camera with us when we were there, you would have got a kick out of it!
